Biography

Hailing from Toowoomba, Ava Black secures her first full-time professional contract in 2024 with Sunshine Coast Lightning. Black made her national debut in 2023 after being elevated as a temporary replacement player in the squad and quickly proved she belonged at that level. Known for her athleticism and height, the young mid-courter can cover all three centre court positions, making her a diverse and formidable opponent. Black was part of Lightning’s ANC (Australian Netball Championships) side and was selected in the Australian 21/U Squad off the back of the tournament. She will be looking to make her mark in 2024.
